If ROVV Takes Me to Blockfest…
Campaign privacy notice
Last updated 12 October 2026. This covers If ROVV Takes Me to Blockfest… specifically. The campaign rules cover everything else.
What we collect, and why
Everything the entry form asks for, plus what is recorded automatically that you would not otherwise know about.
How the page is usedRecorded automatically
A privacy-friendly measurement script counts page views and whether the form was sent, so we know the campaign reached people. It never receives anything you type into the form. It stores a random identifier in your browser to tell a returning visit from a new one, and no advertising network receives it.
Your full name
To identify your entry and, if you win, to issue your ticket in your name.
Your email address
To confirm your entry, tell you if you win, and send a winner's ticket. It is also how you replace your entry if you made a mistake.
Your TikTok username
To confirm the video was posted from your own account. Winners' usernames are published on the campaign page.
The link to your TikTok video
So the team can watch and judge it. The video stays on TikTok; we do not copy or store it.
Your ROVV referral code
So ROVV can confirm you registered on the ROVV app, which is a condition of entry.
Whether you want to hear about future Blockfest Africa campaigns
Optional, and unticked unless you tick it. Leaving it unticked has no effect on your entry.
Your IP addressRecorded automatically
Recorded automatically when you enter, to stop automated entries and abuse of the form.
Your browser's user agentRecorded automatically
Recorded automatically for the same reason, and to diagnose an entry that failed.
Which version of the rules and of this notice you accepted, and whenRecorded automatically
Recorded so it is always answerable which wording you agreed to.
Who holds this
Blockfest Africa, operated by Tevah Synergy, is the data controller for this campaign: Tevah Synergy decides what is collected and what happens to it, and answers for it.
Anything about your personal data goes to partnership@blockfestafrica.com, including the requests set out below.
Why we are allowed to hold it
For running the campaign, the basis is the agreement between us. You enter, and we cannot judge an entry, confirm your ROVV registration or give you a ticket without knowing who you are and how to reach you. If you do not want to give these details, you cannot enter.
For hearing about future Blockfest Africa campaigns and events, the basis is your consent, given separately on the form. It is optional and unticked by default, and refusing it changes nothing about your entry.
For the IP address and user agent, the basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form from being abused by automated entries. They are not used to profile you or for marketing.
What becomes public
Your video is already public on TikTok, because the campaign runs on your own account. Entering does not make anything public that was not already.
If you win, your TikTok username is published on the campaign page. We do not publish your name, email address or referral code.
How long it is kept
Entries are kept for 24 months after the campaign ends on 18 October 2026, to cover a late dispute and the record of the tickets given out. After that they are deleted or anonymised.
If you opted in to hearing about future campaigns, your name and email address are kept for that until you tell us to stop. Every such message includes a way to stop it, and one line to the address above is enough.
IP addresses and user agents are kept for 12 months and then deleted.
What you can ask for
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete it, object to a particular use, or withdraw a consent you gave.
Withdrawing marketing consent is immediate. Asking for deletion before winners are chosen means withdrawing your entry, and we will say so before acting.
Write to partnership@blockfestafrica.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
How it is protected
Entries are held in an access-controlled database, reached only over encrypted connections, and only people working on the campaign can see them.
We ask for as little as we can: no phone number, no date of birth and no address.
Requests and questions go to partnership@blockfestafrica.com.
